Central Manitoulin Garbage & Recycling

Containerized household and commercial pickup for the Municipality of Central Manitoulin occurs weekly on Wednesday. Private lanes will not be travelled. Items are required to be curbside by 6:00 a.m. As of May 1st, 2013, Recycling pickup is every Wednesday, but alternating between the products being picked up as follows according to the Waste & Recycling Schedule below.

Week 1:  Fibers (Cardboard and Paper)

Week 2: Comingle (Plastics and Cans)

PLEASE NOTE CHANGES TO THE RECYCLING PROCEDURES.

GLASS OF ANY KIND, STYROFOAM, GARBAGE, GROCERY, MILK OR BREAD BAGS, GIFT WRAP OR PLASTIC FILM ARE NO LONGER COLLECTED AS RECYCLABLES.

Household and commercial garbage MUST be placed in clear or translucent garbage bags. Smaller, opaque bags (e.g. “Kitchen Catchers”) may be placed within the larger clear bag. The maximum weekly weight limit is 18 kilograms or 40 pounds. Segregation of recyclable materials is MANDATORY.
