Sudbury's Cinefest offers early look at its 2024 film lineup

They include movies shot on Manitoulin Island and in North Bay

"Films shot on Manitoulin Island and North Bay are coming to Cinefest – Sudbury’s annual film festival – next month.

Dada, shot on Manitoulin Island, tells the story of Kai (Ciara Alexys) on the eve of her 16th birthday and her divorced father Adam (James Gilbert of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale), They drive around the perimeter of a nuclear power plant, reading books, and creating seemingly harmless nonsense games.

Within Aaron Poole’s debut feature film is a story that invokes the erosion of language, the failure of mentorship and the threat of the abyss."
