MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL MANITOULIN

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING ZONING BY-LAW

TAKE NOTICE that the Municipality of Central Manitoulin will hold a Public Meeting for the purpose of receiving public comments and considering the adoption of the proposed new Zoning By-law for the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.

Section 26(9) of the Planning Act requires that a municipality update its Zoning By-law following approval of a new Official Plan. The District of Manitoulin Official Plan was approved in 2018. The new Zoning By-law will update zone boundaries, permitted uses, and regulations to ensure conformity with the Official Plan and to address recent land use planning issues.

IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Municipality on the proposed zoning by-law, you must make a written request to Ms. Denise Deforge, CAO/CLERK, Municipality of Central Manitoulin, 6020 Hwy 542, P.O. Box 420, Mindemoya, ON, P0P 1S0.

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Manitoulin Planning Board to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality before the by-law is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Municipality before the by-law is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION and copies of the draft Zoning By-law are available to the public for inspection during regular business hours at the Municipal Office, 6020 Hwy 542, P.O. Box 420, Mindemoya, ON, P0P 1S0.
