Wagg’s Woods Trails - Alvar Trail Opening

A great group of people came out for the Guided Hike at Wagg’s Woods Trails this morning in Mindemoya, ON. The group of about 25 came out for a tour of the newest addition, the Alvar Trail.  The Central Manitoulin Trail Committee members and municipal staff explained the process of enhancing the park and future plans including a permanent trail head sign, interpretive panels and a lookout tower. Local bird and plant experts provided information along the 2 hour hike. The 42 acre park now has 3 km of hiking on 4 distinct trails and is regarded locally as a hidden gem right in the town of Mindemoya. Be sure to put it on your to do list for this summer.
