Mindemoya Beaches

Lake Mindemoya has four public beaches that offer their own unique swimming opportunities and amenities. 

Idyll Glen Beach

Located at the corner of Ketchankookem Trail and Hill Road across from the Idyll Glenn Trailer Park and includes a bench, designated parking area, waste diversion receptacle containers and a seasonal portable washroom. 

Old 551 Beach

Also known as the "little beach" as the locals call it is located at the intersection of old Hwy 542 and Ketchankookem Trail and includes a bench, waste diversion and receptacle containers.  Soft sand and shallow. 

Government Dock Beach

The most popular beach located at the intersection of Will-o-wisp Way and Ketchankookem Trail, this location has a picnic area with benches and picnic tables, waste diversion receptacle containers, swimming docks and a swim raft and is the location of summer swimming lessons. The beach area is located beside the Mindemoya Government dock and boat launch and has on site change house facilities and seasonal washrooms. On site designated boat trailer and beach parking lots are identified with signage.
This is also the location for and inflatable waterpark called Splashtown Manitoulin! The park operates in July and August. 

Monument Road Beach

Also known as "Stanley Park Beach" is located on Monument Road and includes benches, picnic tables, parking area, waste diversion receptacle containers and a seasonal portable washroom.

Other Information 

We welcome you to use our beaches and amenities however please be advised that none of the public  beaches have lifeguards in attendance. Please use at your own risk. 

Rules and Regulations

  • Sorry, no dogs allowed on any of the Lake Mindemoya beaches, however Providence Bay Beach now has a designated dog area at the southeast end of the beach. 
  • No fires are permitted on the beaches. 
  • No motorized vehicle
  • No littering.
  • No overnight camping:
    No parking or camping overnight on the beaches or boat launches or parking lot adjacent to beaches or boat launches.
