Central Manitoulin Pioneer Museum

The Central Manitoulin Historical Society welcomes visitors to the 19th century at the Pioneer Museum.  The Pioneer Park is located adjacent to the Central Manitoulin Welcome Centre on Hwy. 551 in Mindemoya.  Pioneer Park Museum preserves artifacts and history of the pioneer life in Central Manitoulin and many of the exhibits feature the history and culture of farming, fishing and lumbering in our area.  Typically, the museum is open every day in July and August from 9:00am to 6:00pm or by appointment. The museums 2023 closing date is September 1, 2023.

A Little About Central

The Municipality of Central Manitoulin is located in the centre of Manitoulin Island with an abundance of lakes, rivers, and beaches. The Municipality includes the villages and hamlets of Mindemoya, Providence Bay, Spring Bay, Sandfield and Big Lake. We offer diverse attractions and unique landmarks such as our sandy beach in Providence Bay or access to Lake Manitou, the largest lake on the island.
