Warming Station
As the colder temperatures have hit Central Manitoulin, please stop into our warming station located at 6020 Highway 542 at the Municipal Office.
This new year brings a new recycling program to residents of Central Manitoulin. As of January 1, 2025, Central Manitoulin’s residential recycling program is transitioning to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and will be managed by Circular Materials, a national not-for-profit organization that is committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Ontario. This Request for Quotation (the RFQ) is an invitation by the Municipality of Central Manitoulin (the Municipality) to prospective respondents to submit a non-binding Quotation for curbside collection of garbage and non-eligible source recyclable materials across the entire Municipality.
Due to mechanical issues there will be a delay in pickup on Ketchankookem Trail, Hodgin's/Nelder Subdivision as well as in the town of Mindemoya.
Central Manitoulin ratepayers will be able to bring household hazardous waste the Roads building at 7 Lakeshore Road on July 20, 2024 from 1 pm to 4 pm. This location is in conjunction with several other Municipalities. The Town of NEMI will have a separate event in the morning at the NEMI landfill.

Providence Bay Transfer Station now has a “take it and leave it” shed. In the spirit of waste diversion, this program lets residents drop off or pick up items that can be put to use, therefore keeping it out of the landfill.
Central Manitoulin is having a wood chipping for fire prevention event from May 18 - June 16, 2024.
Due to yesterday’s weather conditions, the full garbage and recycling pick-up route could not be completed before service had to be suspended.
